Our Mission: To significantly reduce the number of strokes and heart attacks suffered by Americans due to poor diet choices. This will be accomplished by a combination of education and replacing high sodium salt with a reduced sodium enhanced potassium salt called “Good Salt.”
In Dr. Richard Moore's 2001 book, he refers to a recent Finnish study showing a 60 percent decline in deaths attributed to strokes and heart attacks.
Doctor H. Karppanen, MD, PhD, the scientist who formulated PanSalt/GoodSalt, published papers in peer reviewed journals:
in 2005 During this period, there has been a remarkable 10mmHg fall in the average diastolic blood pressure of the population [of Finland]. Moreover, in the middle-aged population, the death rate both from stroke and heart diseases has decreased by about 70%. The age-adjusted overall mortality has also decreased remarkably so that the life expectancy has increased by several years both among women and men.
then in 2009 These different measures have resulted in a progressive and marked decrease in the average intake of salt in the Finnish population. Parallel to this reduction in salt intake there has been a reduction in average population blood pressure. For example there has been more than a 10 mm Hg reduction in diastolic blood pressure. This reduction in blood pressure largely explains the decrease of strokes and heart attacks. There has been an 80% reduction in the death rates both from stroke and heart disease in the middle-aged population, which can help account for the reduction in overall mortality in Finland which has decreased so much that the life expectancy has increased by several years among both women and men.
